Prebiotic face mask for dermatitis and ezcema

L22

A blend of natural oils derived from Joboba, macadamia and olive, designed to mimic the skins surface lipid profile to that of a 22-year-old. Our lipid barrier is responsible for the overall recovery and maintenance of our skins health. Think of it as an invisible wall on the surface of our skin, that protects our skin from water loss, environmental damage (such as pollution, sun, wind), and bacteria. As we age, our skins natural oil flow slows down; leading to a dryer skin and deterioration of our skins lipid barrier function. Reviving your skins barrier back to a healthy 22-year-old barrier function, will increase moisture and hydration within the skin – plumping and smoothing fine lines, reduce redness and sensitivity and increase skin elasticity and firmness.

Aloe Vera

Packed full of minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, and vitamins A, C, and E, this plant derived juice will help to reinforce the skins lipid barrier function, by increasing moisture levels! Aloe Vera is also naturally antibacterial - to help combat surface congestion.

Joboba oil

Jojoba is a golden liquid wax (often called jojoba oil) that is made from the jojoba bean. This miracle oil, closely resembles our own skins sebum makeup; an oily substance which is produced by our skins oil glands, below the skins surface layers. Because of its similar makeup to our own skins natural oils, Joboba oil will not only add the needed oil to your skins surface layers, but also has the ability to penetrate deep beneath the skins surface; helping to soften lines, nourish your skin from within, while protecting your skins surface layers. Jojoba naturally contains a balance of vitamins A, D and E which are known as skin healing vitamins.

Argan oil

This naturally derived oil is sourced from the nuts found within the fruit of argan trees, grown in a certain region of Morocco. Argan oil is high in vitamin E to assist with cell protection and skin healing, essential fatty acids and antioxidants to assist with strengthening the overall health of the skin, while also nourishing dryness and soothing surface inflammation and irritation.

Vitamin E

This powerful vitamin is a nutrient for the skin, neutralising free radicals, preventing premature ageing, brightening uneven skin tone and adding moisture to dry skin. Remember - free radicals within the skin cause destruction to our collagen, so to reduce this as much as possible, our skin needs antioxidants, such as Vitamin E to fight back against the effects of time! *Vitamin E used as a cosmetic active is not natural, like most vitamins, is synthetically made. However the molecule is the same as the one found in nature. The Vitamin E we use, is classified as a nature identical.

Panthenol

Often referred to as Vitamin B5, this ingredient aims to soothe, repair and nourish the skin, while helping to calm redness due to reactiveness and skin sensitivity. This ingredient is beneficial for all skin types and in particular, skins that are dry, dehydrated and reactive. Vitamin B5 studies show its ability to strengthen the skins lipid barrier, mainly due to its ability to prevent trans epidermal water loss (preventing water evaporation from the skin), due to being a humectant ingredient; ensuring that the skin maintains efficient water content, allowing it to function at its best.
*Although panthenol itself occurs naturally within the body and can be found in plants, the type of panthenol used in skincare formulations is produced synthetically. However, the molecule is the same as the one found in nature. The panthenol we use, is classified as a nature identical.

Roman Chamomile oil

A natural herb, derived from the chamomile flower. Chamomile is known for its anti inflammatory effects within the body and skin, and is perfect for sensitive, red or dry skins. Its soothing and purifying properties make it a good remedy for eczema, irritated skin and dry, itchy, flaky skin conditions.

Inulin

Inulin is derived from several plant sources & acts as a prebiotic, helping to nourish and support the growth of healthy skin microbiota, supporting the skins microbiome health & natural defences.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3.
This powerful vitamin is a water-soluble vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly minimize enlarged pores, brighten and even the skins overall tone and appearance, soften fine lines and wrinkles and will help to strengthen and maintain a healthy skin lipid barrier - to ensure your skin is properly protected from all environmental factors that can contribute to skin moisture loss, dehydration and sensitivity.
*Niacinamide used as a cosmetic active is not natural, like most vitamins, is synthetically made. However the molecule is the same as the one found in nature. The niacinamide we use, is classified as a nature identical.

Glycerine

Derived naturally from plants, Glycerine is a humectant, meaning it allows the skin to hold onto water, while drawing water from below the surface layers, up to the skins surface, as well as drawing moisture from the atmosphere into the skin; helping to keep your skin hydrated and moisturised. A hydrated skin is a healthy functioning skin, as hydration is needed, in order for the skin to protect itself from its environment, as well as function

Organic Shea Butter

Shea butter is naturally high in vitamins and fatty acids, needed to nourish and protect the skin; helping to reduce inflammation and redness as well as softening fine lines and wrinkles.

Organic Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, D, and E, helping to nourish and moisturise surface dryness, calm inflammation and assist with the overall skin rejuvenation and healing process, while strengthening and maintaining a healthy lipid barrier function.

Sunflower oil

This oil is derived from sunflowers and is rich in essential fatty acids – needed to keep the skin nourished and the skins lipid barrier strong! It’s naturally high in antioxidants and Vitamin E – to ensure that your skin cells are protected against free radicals and able to function at their best, while being soothing for skin irritation and surface inflammation and redness.

Rosehip oil

Extracted from the hip of the rose flower, this oil is naturally high in vitamins E and C to reduce inflammation and dryness within the skin, as well as brighten skin tone and strengthen redness within the skin. Rosehip oil is packed full of antioxidants to protect your skin cells, and omegas 3,6 and 9, to assist with skin cell repair, while also strengthening your skins barrier function – reducing future skin sensitivity.

Gluconolactone

A poly-hydroxy acid (PHA), derived from gluconic acid found in fruit, honey, and wine.
This naturally derived acid is a much gentler form of acid and has a larger molecular structure than AHAs and BHAs, meaning, it does not penetrate the skin as deeply or as quickly, making it a less irritating exfoliation option for a more sensitive or reactive skin. Often, due to barrier impairment and skin dehydration, our skin cells are not functioning in a balanced way, leading to a slow skin cell turnover and build-up of surface dead skin, resulting in a rough skin texture and often a dull skin tone. This gentle acid works at exfoliating the surface layer – removing surface dead skin cell build up, revealing a smoother skin texture and a brighter skin tone, while allowing your skincare products to absorb effectively within the skin, enhancing your skin results.
