L22
A blend of natural oils derived from joboba, macadamia and olive, designed to mimic the skins surface lipid profile to that of a 22-year-old. Our lipid barrier is responsible for the overall recovery and maintenance of our skins health. Think of it as an invisible wall on the surface of our skin, that protects our skin from water loss, environmental damage (such as pollution, sun, wind), and bacteria. As we age, our skins natural oil flow slows down; leading to a dryer skin and deterioration of our skins lipid barrier function. Reviving your skins barrier back to a healthy 22-year-old barrier function, will increase moisture and hydration within the skin – plumping and smoothing fine lines, reduce redness and sensitivity and increase skin elasticity and firmness.
Safflower oil
A natural plant extract, this oil is so gentle on the skin; it is often found in baby skincare products. This oil naturally contains linoleic acid – an omega 6 fatty acid, which works on improving the overall quality and texture of the skin, reducing irritation and inflammation, while kick starting your skins cell turnover; increasing collagen and elastin levels within the skin…anti ageing and calming!
Camellia oil
Derived from the seeds within the Camellia flower, this oil is light-weight in texture, with the ability to add deep moisture and nourishment to dry skin. Camellia oil has a very similar composition to our own skins natural oil, making it very easily absorbed by the skin, with no irritation. This oil is rich in omega fatty acids 3, 6 and 9, known for their anti inflammatory properties; helping calm the skin, and improve the skins barrier function; adding moisture and reducing sensitivity within the skin.
Rosehip oil
Extracted from the hip of the rose flower, this oil is naturally high in vitamins E and C to reduce inflammation and dryness within the skin, as well as brighten skin tone and strengthen redness within the skin. Rosehip oil is packed full of antioxidants to protect your skin cells, and omegas 3,6 and 9, to assist with skin cell repair, while also strengthening your skins barrier function – reducing future skin sensitivity.
Pomegranate oil
This oil is proven to penetrate deep into the skin, soothing dry, cracked and irritated skin, while also increasing circulation and healing within the skin. This oil is naturally high in vitamins A, C, E and K to assist in the overall health of the skin, as well as omega 5 fatty acid which will hydrate the skin, while also protecting the skins moisture content; reducing further dryness within the skin.
Argan oil
This baby is derived from the nuts found within the fruit of argan trees, grown in a certain region of Morocco. Argan oil is high in vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidant to assist with strengthening the overall health of the skin, while also nourishing dryness and soothing inflammation and irritation within the skin.
Yarrow oil
This essential oil helps to hold moisture within the skin, reducing dryness and ageing within the skin, while improving the skins overall texture. I chose to add yarrow oil into the soother, as this oil decreases inflammation and irritation within the skin, while also strengthening the skins keratin layer (which helps to build the outer layers of the skin), reducing overall dryness and sensitivity.
Joboba oil
Jojoba is a golden liquid wax (often called jojoba oil) that is made from the jojoba bean. This miracle oil, closely resembles our own skins sebum makeup; an oily substance which is produced by our skins oil glands, below the skins surface layers. Because of its similar makeup to our own skins natural oils, Joboba oil will not only add the needed oil to your skins surface layers, but also has the ability to penetrate deep beneath the skins surface; helping to soften lines, nourish your skin from within, while protecting your skins surface layers. Jojoba naturally contains a balance of vitamins A, D and E which are known as skin healing vitamins.
Vitamin E
This powerful vitamin is a nutrient for the skin, neutralising free radicals, preventing premature ageing, brightening uneven skin tone and adding moisture to dry skin. Remember - free radicals within the skin cause destruction to our collagen, so to reduce this as much as possible, our skin needs antioxidants, such as Vitamin E to fight back against the effects of time!
Chamomile essential oil
A natural herb, derived from the chamomile flower. Chamomile is known for its anti inflammatory effects within the body and skin, and is perfect for sensitive, red or dry skins. Its soothing and purifying properties make it a good remedy for eczema, irritated skin and dry, itchy, flaky skin conditions.
Fragrance: No added fragrance but the chamomile flower oil has a natural scent to it.
