Transitioning Your Skincare from Winter to Spring — the Fresh Face Skin Way

Posted by Amelia Goff on

As we swap jumpers and jackets for lighter layers, it’s just as important to refresh our skincare routines. Winter can leave skin feeling dry, dull, and tight. As the air warms and daylight lengthens, your skin needs a different kind of support.

Here’s how to make a smooth seasonal shift with our naturally powerful, barrier-loving range.

  1. Switch heavy creams for lightweight hydration

Winter calls for richer creams or oils to shield skin from dry air and indoor heating. Now, dial it back. In the morning, ease off heavy moisturiser or the Soother Treatment and apply a lightweight cream plus serum try our Reverser or Healer Treatment before SPF for comfortable, all-day wear.

Our Hydrate Me Starter Pack is a great base. Add Reverser or Healer for extra support. This combo brings together the ultra-hydrating Hydration Booster, lightweight Reverser/Healer Treatments, and the barrier-supporting, light oil-based Soother Treatment for night. Always finish with SPF 30–50+ to protect against increasing UV, even on cloudy days.

  2. Exfoliate gently for a fresh spring glow

Winter weather can cause dead skin build-up, dulling tone and blocking absorption. Welcome spring with gentle exfoliation 1–2 times weekly to reveal brighter, smoother skin.

Our AHA & Enzyme Exfoliator is our go-to for instant renewal kind enough for post-winter dryness yet effective for fresh spring skin.

  3. Stay hydrated — inside and out

Fluctuating temps sap moisture. Surface hydration is only half the story internal hydration matters too.

Aim for ~2 litres of water daily and keep consistent with a high-quality omega-3 (fish oil) to support barrier function and water retention within the skin.

For an instant top-up, our Barrier Mist is a go-to. Packed with barrier-loving, antioxidant-rich botanicals, it layers beautifully over makeup or SPF and helps guard against environmental stressors, all year round.

  4. Introduce brightening actives (mindfully)

Spring is the time to reintroduce or ramp up brightening and texture-smoothing ingredients like vitamin C and gentle acids. If you’re layering actives again, start slowly and listen to your skin.

Begin with the Hydrate & Renew Pack plus our Vitamin C for a nourishing foundation that supports healthy function. It includes hydrating, replenishing formulas and our Renewal Booster (a plant-based vitamin A) to prep skin to handle actives with confidence. Reintroduce our 100% Vitamin C powder slowly. Start 1–2× weekly and build. Simply mix into your Reverser or Healer Treatment in the morning for added protection and brightening.

  5. Keep up your sun protection — non-negotiable

Spring’s longer days make SPF essential  even indoors. Remember: UVA, the ageing ray that breaks down collagen, is invisible and penetrates glass.

For ongoing protection and prevention, choose a physical, natural sunscreen that layers well under makeup and blends easily. A fresh, daily layer helps prevent premature ageing and keeps skin performing at its best all season.
